Kingfisher Road
The Kingfisher Road Student Accommodation Facility began construction in 2016 and is now in the final stages of development. It is a 592 bed facility located adjacent to Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie.
- GOALS
There is an active Koala population in the surrounding areas and a Koala Plan of Management has been prepared.
WolfPeak was engaged to undertake annual monitoring surveys of the Koala population and ensure all the requirements of the Koala Plan of Management were being met. Inspection of the health of offset tree plantings was also undertaken. We found that Koalas have continued to use the habitat surrounding the student accommodation buildings and activity levels have not declined.
Students were encouraged to record Koala sightings on the grounds which provide a greater level of information for our studies. It was rewarding to find that the Koala population in this area remains stable as they have declined in other areas of Port Macquarie.
